Child Car Seat

嵐は去り強風だけ残った日曜の午後、
この間書いたカーシェアリングを使って今日は
コストコに行って来た。

これまで数回平日に連れて行ってもらったが
今回週末に初めていきビックリ！

まず駐車場入る前から大混雑。
中入ってビジターの手続き（前回友達の会員証で
同行した際もらった）で待ち、帰りレジで待ち、
売店で待ち、とちょっとしたレジャー施設状態．．．

でもお目当てのGRACO社のチャイルドシートが
お手頃に購入できたのでよかった。
車社会のアメリカではチャイルドシートも含む
道路交通法も厳しく、またシートの安全基準も
日本より格段厳しいので、
今回アメリカのGRACO社のものが手頃に手に
入って本当に安心した。

カーシェアリングの車には日本のメーカーの
簡易型座面（？）が付いているのだが、どうも
安全面に不安があり、高速移動や遠出は不安で
しょうがなかった。
（座面が車に固定されず動く。そのためうちの
息子くらいの年の子だとシートベルトがかなり
ルースで、追突されたら子供が抜けてしまいな
そうな感じ）

日本ではこの簡易型座面がかなり普及していて、
3歳児くらいの子だと結構これで済ませている人が
多い印象だったが、
私は２年前滞在したハワイで友人から何故アメリカ
ではベビー／チャイルドシートの規制が６、７歳くらい
まで厳しいかとくとくと説明されて以来、
その辺は結構神経質になった。

さ、これでGW初めに友人がやる千葉内房での
サーフキャンプも参加できるかな？！

いい季節になってきたな〜

A spring storm hit Tokyo very hard yesterday.
Thick clouds started covering the sky in early afternoon
and suddenly a gust wind blew then heavy rain.
They say many river running through Tokyo flooded.

Then came a sunny clean sky this morning, only left
thing was gusty wind.

We rented a car again in the afternoon and headed for
Costco to buy a child car seat for Koki.

In Japan, the law surrounding driving
vehicle is not as strict as US because there
are less drivers therefore less accidents in
Japan (I believe).

I was surprised to find such an unsafe looking child
seat inside the rental car (car sharing).
I asked around but everyone seemed not worry about
the safety of this seat and that they seemed to be
using it for their children.

Because this seat does not get fixed down to a car,
it moves right to left on curves and it worries me and
makes me hesitant about driving on a highway or
traveling far.

Anyway, now that we have a legitimate child car seat,
we can go to so many places!

At the end of the month, my friend is planning a surf
camp in Chiba, we may join for the BBQ.
