加湿器は乾燥する日本の冬の必需品

先週金曜夜から熱、嘔吐、下痢でまだリハビリ中のコウキ。
朝一でお医者さんに行き、帰りのバギーで寝つき今はベッドでお昼寝中。

火曜日にはダンナがやられ、水曜日には私がやられ、一時期はどうなることかと思った。吐き気を我慢しながらコウキにお粥を作って食べさせた時は陣痛の中ご飯を食べた時を思い出し、「出産のほうがきつかったよな～」とぼーっと思った。
それにしても保育園は感染る、特に秋越してからは鼻水はノンストップだし、ウィルス系や流行風邪もウヨウヨ。かかりつけの小児科はいつも何十番待ち。これから温かくなるまでは隔週で行くくらいの覚悟かな。ま、３歳くらいまでは免疫構築中だし、感染し感染されだからしょうがないのだけどね。
つくづく子供の医療費助成があってよかったと思う。基本診療・薬代はタダ、これは本当に助かる。しかも中学校卒業まで！あとは土日の緊急の場合夜９時半まで区の医師会がやってること。何度かけこませていただいたか。
狭いし、人多いし、喧騒だし、でもやっぱり東京はいろいろな意味で便利だし恵まれていると病気になった時に思う。

Kohki has been sick from last Friday, took him to a doctor several times. Nausea, diarrhea, he is finally recovering from it. Doctor told us it might be rota virus which is similar to norovirus but weaker.  He was only on liquid on Wednesday and he started eating porridge, mashed pumpkin, tofu etc. from yesterday.
Ever since he started day care, he catches all sorts of virus and gets sick from it time to time, and we understand that until age 3 or so, his immune system is in progress of building and thus cannot but get sick.

Nice thing about living in Tokyo is that welfare system is abundant.  With Kohki, we pay almost nothing to go see a doctor and priscribed medicine.  This goes on until he graduates from junior high school (age 15).  Also, emergency room is provided by Tokyo after hospitals business hours. We don't know how many times we relied on this service. 

Though we often blame our busy, stressful life on city of Tokyo, I realize at times like this it is very helpful.

記念日 - anniversay



 今日は午後一の私の皮膚科に全員で出かけ、終わった後ｔｏｒｕの帽子を探しに副都心線で表参道へ。裏原宿をぶらぶらしながら青山へ。子連れじゃなければ裏原宿はじっくり探索したいエリア。
３１日は入籍記念日なので夕飯は外で、と思ってＴｏｎｙＲｏｍ青山店に行ったら洸希が騒ぎだし、隣のカップルに悪いので何も頼まず即退散。六本木店なら外国人が多いから大丈夫かも（独断と偏見）ということになり外苑通りを歩いて六本木へ。ＴｏｎｙＲｏｍａ六本木はやっぱり裏切らなかった。テーブルがまずアメリカンサイズで隣も遠いし、ブース席にしてくれたから多少洸希が騒いでもノープロブレム。店内はハロウィンの飾り付けが所狭し並び、店員さんもみんな仮装、食事は大きなリブステーキとドデカいオニオンリング、とひさびさにアメリカンな夕飯でした。誰に何と文句言われようと私はやっぱりアメリカの食べ物・文化好きだわ。

帰りは歩いて麻布十番に出てスタバでコーヒーを飲んで帰ってきました。なかなかハードスケジュールな一日だったけど、楽しい一日でした。

Sunday was our marriage anniversary (wedding in May) and we went out for an American dinner at Tony Roma's in Roppongi.  Being a Halloween day as well, the restaurant was full of decorations and staff in costumes.  A rack of rib steak and a huge onion ring with a dip sauce accompanied with draft beers, an American dinner we have been forgetting about lately.  We sure enjoyed it incl. Kohki who reached for his own piece of back rib and chewed on it forever.  A nice and fun weekend for all of us.
