大雪, snow

関東に初雪。
近年まれにみる大雪に大人は戸惑い、
子供は大興奮。

日曜の未明、旦那の祖母が息を引き取った。
９６歳の大往生。
いつも気っ風がよく、江戸っ子で、みんなが
一目おく祖母だった。

他界する前々日、娘２人、義息子２人、孫５人、
義孫４人、ひ孫３人集まり祖母を囲んだ。
薄れる意識の中、たまにみんなの気配を察する
のか薄く目を開いたりしていた。

一昨年他界した私の祖母同様、９０を超すまで
強く生き、みんなに思われ慕われ人生を閉じた。

機会があるとちらっと聞かしてくれた祖母たちの昔話。
大変な時代を生きて来た２人たけど、
幸せな身の詰まった人生だったと思う。

This week started with a big snow fall here in Tokyo.
Adults bewildered, kids thrilled.

Toru's grandma passed away early morning of Sunday at
age of 96.

Her 2 daughters (aunt and mother in law) and their husbands,
5 grandchildren and 4 spouses, 4 great grandchildren all
gathered around grandma on Friday.
She was breathing heavily as if she could not breathe in well,
but as all of us gathered and shared the memory of our grandma,
she became more and more at ease.

Along with my grandma who passed away couple years ago,
she lived well passing age of 90.
Through toughest time and good time, they have seen many
and have been through many.

It is treasure in our mind what they told us of their times.
