明日は私の両親、姉夫婦４人と姪っ子一人が

来て早めのクリスマスパーティーの予定が、

両親を皮切りに、義兄２人が風邪でダウン。

のため中止。

鶏肉焼くぞ！

と意気込みお肉屋さんに頼んでいたので、

断るのも悪いし、数を減らしてもらって、

持って帰ってローストチキンに。

魚焼きグリルで表面をカリッとさせた後、

じゃがいも、人参を敷いた上にのせル・クルーゼでロースト。

それにしてもル・クルーゼ。

以前も書いたと思うが、すごい。

普通の肉が極上に仕上がること間違いなし。

今回は以前書いた深鍋ではなく、最近早めのクリスマスプレゼント、
といって義母がプレゼントしてくれた浅型の鍋。

先々週はこれで豚バラ肉とキャベツを煮て、一昨日はおでんをやった。
冬はル・クルーゼ大活躍の我が家。

I just finished cooking chicken in a skillet type Les Creuset pan.
My mother in law gave me a big casserole pan last year and I take it
out once in a while when I roast meat or veges.

This year she gave me a skillet type pan and it's even greater than the
big pan.

Because it is heavy, it seems hard to handle, but this is why it cooks
so well.

An ordinary meat and veges come out as an extraordinary plate.

Today I cooked chicken because my parents and my sisters and
their husbands and a niece were all supposed to get together tomorrow.

Turns out my parents, both in law brothers sick.
Hopefully we can get together before end of year...

Koki is starting to receive Christmas gifts!!
Great season for kids... as parents' wallets become thinner...

ぱーてー, Friday night party

Baja Yaro! in Daikanyama

昨夜はひさびさにLAっぽいパーティーにいってきた。

以前書いた、私が仕事を手伝ってるカリフォルニア出身の
人が定期的に趣味で開催しているタコスイベント。
子連れもいて息子も楽しく遊んだ。

ロス仕込みの本物タコスをオリオンビールと食す。
小さめだけど２コ600円とリーズナブル、
趣味だからこの値段が可能？
美味しかった。また食べたい！

21時頃旦那も現れ、雑踏で全く聞こえないけど、
翻訳を手伝ったスライドショーを見、
旦那がタコスを食べ、
出て来たマリアーチバンドに圧倒され
息子不機嫌になったので帰って来た。

寒い外に出て旦那と、

ひさびさだね、こうゆうLAっぽいパーティー。。。

と今となれば遠いロスの日を思い出した夜だった。

We went to a tacos party Craig, a guy I help with translation sometimes
who's from California, runs every once in a while, it's his hobby,
serving home made tacos to people he knows.

Because my main purpose was to watch a slide of Mexico
I helped the translation work with, Koki and I left towards that,
starting from 9pm, bit late.

Party was at a small restaurant located in a basement of a concrete,
somewhat very Daikanyama (high fashion, high residence area of
Tokyo, only 20 min ride from our place yet very different atmosphere)
building.

I had a carnitas (pork) taco and a vege taco, 2 for 600 JPY (abtou $7),
not bad for Tokyo pricing. Very good tacos too.

Slideshow, I could not hear anything.... cuz everyone with drinks,
well, its a party, can't blame.

Toru showed up later, had tacos.
Koki was overwhelmed with a mariachi band which played in front of
us (pic above),
and we left for home.

Outside, putting our jackets on, Toru and I murmured,

that was so LA..., it's been a while since we were in that kind of party atmosphere,

we enjoyed the un-Japan yet very Tokyo in a way Friday night.

Disneyland

今週末はディズニーランドに
いってきた。

前回は極寒の１月、今回は真冬
一歩手前+防寒対策万端で、
凍えずに閉園ギリギリまで息子は
満喫できた様子。

もともと旦那も私もディズニーに
無関心なため、
とにかくアトラクション。
パレードもグッズにも脇目もふらず、
空いてそうなのから乗る。
で、手ぶらで退園。

毎回私のTDLのハイライトは、
泊まるホテルのブュッフェ。

日頃は食べないブュッフェ、
この時だけは楽しみ。

レイトナイトブュッフェのため
品数は限られるが、
半日フル回転で遊んだ後は
なんとなくいろいろ好きなだけ
食べられるのが嬉しい。

This weekend we went to Disneyland Tokyo. Yes, we even have our own
Disneyland... very westernized
Japan we are.

Well, it serves kids around Tokyo real
well for sure.
Even Koki who doesnt watch Disney
at all knows it's a fun place.

Today Koki received a chocolate
stored advent calendar with Thomas
from my patents.

Along with Halloween goods,
this advent calendar is becoming
popular here too.

It may not be long before people
start celebrating Easter here in
Japan (not to mention Christmas
has been here over decades
regardless of people's beliefs).

シナボン再上陸！It's back!

大好きなシナボン、戻ってきました！

いついこうかと機会を虎視眈眈と(?)
狙ってましたきたが、
昨日六ヒルに行く機会があり、
帰りに上司とお茶した後、
三件先くらいにあり、ラッキー！！！

すごーくテンション↑

お一人様限定3個、らしい。
平日15時と中途半端な時間帯とはいえ、
オープンからまだ1週間なのに、
待ちは6人くらい…

大丈夫か、シナボン⁈

クリスピークリーム上陸の時に
比べると地味な感が否めない。

帰って早速食す。
うまぁぁぁぁぁぁぁぁぁ！

また撤退なんてやめてね、と願う
私であった。

Cinnabon is back once again in Tokyo!!!
I love Cinnabon ever since I had it the first time.

So sweet and so rich, perfectly unhealthy.

As I was in the area for work,
I googled the shop which I knew just
opened last week.

Only 6 ppl in line.
It's nothing compared to the Krispy Kreme
when it first came to Tokyo.

Just like any other new things from overseas,
Tokyo ppl love new and on things on media.
Often ppl line up for hours, just like
Eggs n Things in Omotesando (an
ordinary pancake restaurant from Hawaii).
Ppl line up for 2-3 hours just for a damn
pancake....

Well, we should thank universe for
being able to waste time and energy
on such trivial things, thanks.

初 mobile upload

質実剛健というのか、
このブログをホスト(?)してる
blogspotはかなりシンプルで、
それがまた気に入ってるのだけど、
モバイルアプリがあるというので
落としてみたら、こちら更に
シンプル。

ただ投稿するためだけのアプリらしく、
コメントや統計などのチェック機能なし。
あまりのシンプルさに笑った。

いや、でもそれで良いのです。

暇はたまにで、などとのたまってたら、
まんまと今週からシーン…

で、昨日は息子が保育園行った後、
午前中いっぱい近くの商店街であっちやこっちや買い物し、
戻ってプレ大掃除とばかりに窓などを
掃除。

家事は本当に終わりがなく、

◉まだ終わり切ってない衣替え、
◉整理しなきゃいけない棚やクローゼット、
◉フィルター交換＆掃除必要なレンジフード＆トイレ/風呂場の通気口、
◉下駄箱整理＆掃除、
゜
゜
゜
終わりがない…
いつの日か納得がいく位片付いた家に住みたい…

そして、やっぱりキチキチの生活より、
ゆったりの方がいいかなぁ〜

あと4ヶ月は嫌でもキチキチせねば‼

This blogspot I use to share my thoughts, is very simple compared to many of similar services provided by other companies.

I like it simple cuz I usually don't bother dig into all the tricks that comes with it.
Too complicated and usually doesn't add much anyway.

Well, today I learned that blogspot has a mobile application and so I downloaded and I'm writing this on my iPhone apps.

The blogspot mobile app, here, very simple again, even simpler.

My schedule once again subsided this week and yesterday I enjoyed whole morning doing a slow grocery shopping in a nearby shopping arcade.

Today I cleaned windows and window screens in the morning before I left for work.

But, but, I need to whip myself to get more work, just for 4 more months, until Koki gets into a kindergarten!!

Or maybe forever?!

たまに、ふ、と空く数時間。
貴重な時間ですね〜

昔はみんなシステム手帳
（または会社で配られるスケジュール帳？）
ってやつを持ち歩いてた時代もありましたが、
今は全て携帯（またはスマホ）でしょうか。

学生時代はどれだけスケジュール帳が埋まってるか
で自分の価値を計ったりもしたけど、
今となればスマホのアラートの嵐で
たまに全部諦めたくなることしばしば。

学生時代は暇がない＝安心
（今で言う「リア充」てやつか？！）、
だったのにね。

でも今の生活環境においてまったくの暇は無理かな。。
都会の喧噪の中での暇は行き場が無いし、高くつく
（私にとっては）。。

ので、
バタバタする中にたまにキラッと光る暇な時間くらいが
今の私には丁度良いのでしょう。

さ、数時間そろそろ終了。

幼稚園の結果

世田谷公園

今週末は旦那が風邪でダウン。
のため、昨日は近くの公園で朝から昼まで、午後はキッズスペース。
今日は昼少し前にバスを乗り継ぎ世田谷公園に息子と行って来た。

本物のSLデゴイチが鎮座し、ミニSLも乗れるとあって、
男の子にはオススメの公園。

話変わって幼稚園戦争の結果。

2つは抽選で午前早々に落ち、
1つは午前面接、夕方バイト先を抜け出し結果発表を見に行くも
落ちていた。。。。

もう、体力は使い果たしたわ、気力も使い果たしたわ、
でほとほと疲れ果て、その日願書提出だけし翌日面接の残り1つは
お金払ったけど仕事もあるしやめることに、

したのに、金曜朝保育園にいったら

「今日は保育の申請出ていませんよ」

と言われ驚きながらも家にとんぼ返りし、
どうせ保育園いかず家でくすぶってるなら、お金払ってるし駄目もとで、
と残り1つの11時からの面接に急遽向かった。

閑静な住宅街の中に佇む幼稚園には、
驚く位お受験ルックのお母様、お父様たちが集まっていた。。。

一応私はジャケット着てきてが、息子は超私服。
みなさまのお子様は入学式ルック。。。
（しつこいが、有名私立お受験じゃないのになんで？）

もうここまで来ると全く期待してないから、どーでもいいかな、
と思いながら、

親面接、子面接、子簡単なテスト（内容不明）、親子面接、

をこなした。
面接した先生はどの人も結構年配で感じがよかった。

で、即通知ということで帰りに封筒を貰ってみたら、


なんと思いがけず受かってた。。。。


全くいれると思っていなかった幼稚園のため、説明会はいってないわ、
下調べしてないは、で、帰ってから急遽調べたら、

遊びは泥んこ遊びなどかなり自由奔放で男の子向き、
親はあまり幼稚園の行事に関わらない、

らしく超棚ボタ！！
ので、そこにひとまず入れることにした。

やーれやれ、
なにはともあれ、一件落着して良かった。


So Toru and I ran around the town to get anyhow Koki into one of the kindergarten
schools nearby.

Result?

Well, 2 out of 4, lost the lottery, so gone right away,
1 Koki and I met with a teacher for 5 min or so, didn't make it (no idea why, but
possibly because I wrote down that I work from home and Koki goes to
a day care),

last 1 was an interview next day, but I was so worn out physically, mentally,
I told Toru I wasn't gonna go the next day.

Next morning, it turns out that accidentally I forgot to put that day on a monthly
schedule for the day care, and
they sent us home...

It was 5 minutes past 10 am and our scheduled interview was at 11 am.

I decided to go to the interview since Koki and I were going to be home anyway.

Went,
many moms and paps in suit, even kids dressed up, surprises me.
I wore a jacket (not suit) but Koki totally in regular clothes...

A parent interview, a child interview, a child test (no idea what they did),
parent(s)/kid interview,

and they gave us a big envelope on our way out.

We were in,

yes in,

no idea what made us, but I guess lucky.

Again, the school is not a high end academic type but yet this craziness....

Crazy indeed, but glad to be done with it!
