Tokyo is seeing a cold rain from yesterday and the forecast
tells us it will linger till Saturday, with low temperature.
Scorching hot to chilly weather, tricky, easy to get cold.
This week the school is ina training week and
the owner's sister who trains teachers in Canada flew in
Tokyo yesterday to give a training to our teachers here in
Tokyo.
I got to sit in one of the sessions and it was great.
She showed us one of the videos from an Australian university
in Ontario, Canada, about a good environement for children
to play and learn.
Long story short, I am starting to understand the reason behind
those parents who pay tons of money to have their kids in
such creative environment.
It is just very different from the regular plain, old school,
minimum environment.
Just so free and creative.
This fact does not make any changes to where we stand in
terms of our financial status, but the least we can do is to look back
on the environment at home.
Overwhelmed with daily house chores and work, often
I find myself letting Koki sit in front of TV for quite a while,
but yesterday and today,
I made time to play with him with paper, scissors, and glue
(and origami) and soon his eyes started to shine and
I could see his creativity rising.
Between chores and cooking, I will try to find 2 minutes here,
10 minutes there to play with him, if not everyday at least
a few times a week.
