おちつきました, settling in

虫取り

息子は今朝から近くの幼稚園保育園に通い出した。
先週体験で行った際、幼稚園がある里山のようなところで
お友達と先生と虫取りをして以来すっかり虫取りにはまり
日曜日も旦那と虫かご、虫網を購入の上出かけた。
今朝は暑いからおそらく幼稚園で水遊びだろう。

あんなに都会が好きだ、渋谷に住みたい（！）、と騒いでいた
息子だが変わり身が早い、
「うちも森の中に家があったらね」
だそう。

そうね、子供からしたらそうなのかな。
私はほぼそんな環境で育ったからそう思った事はないけど。
でも、高校生くらいになったら、もっと都会に住みたい、
と確実に思うんだろうなあ。（私がそうだった）

こちらの生活は緑が多く環境はすごくいいんだけど、
仕事という面からみると共働きにはちと厳しい。
フットワークがなんせ重くなる。
だから、
半年後＋で都内に戻るまで、このゆったり生活を
満喫しておこうと思う。

私自身は、というとその後も仕事が大してないまま
暮らしているが週末前に風邪をひき、みるみる悪くなり
昨日から声が出ない。
夏風邪は長引くから用心しないと。

こちらでの生活も落ち着いて来たし、ゆっくり新しい家の
ことなどあれこれ考える余裕が出て来たかな。
楽しみだな〜
狭小だけどマイホーム。次は終の住処になるのだから、
じっくり、と納得のいく相手と納得のいくものを作って
いきたいと思う。

Its been almost 2 weeks since we moved out of Tokyo.
Our life is seeing a settled pattern and everyone is
grasping his/her own life pattern.

Koki started his new school this morning.
We decided to request a temporary leave for his school
in Tokyo and let him go to a nearby preschool in a small
valley. This school is surrounded by rice fields, lots of
trees and leaves children love.
Koki and I went for a free class for a try out and he loved
catching insects in the valley. Perfect environment for kids.

We will let him enjoy that kind of life style until we go back
to Tokyo sometime during next year.

Life in suburb is very quiet, slow and nice, very different from
that in central Tokyo. With sacrifice to the convenience,
we have other benefits.

Though, judging from my career point of view, it is difficult.
Because central Tokyo is not built for workers to drive into,
everyone who lives in a suburban towns just outside Tokyo
commutes via bus and train.
With children added to that becomes such a hassle and it
is so much easier to just give up on maintaining the career
with life outside Tokyo.

I am lucky enough to have clients who are willing to work
around my hectic schedule away from Tokyo, so
though there is decline in the amount of work this month
compared to previous months, I am able to maintain it.

Well, cheers for our new life in a suburb.
We should enjoy while it lasts, while we plan for a new house
in Tokyo.
