盆踊り Bon Odori fes

昨夜は友達の娘が通う幼稚園の盆踊りに行って来た。
住宅街にある、そう大きくない幼稚園にたくさんの人が集まって驚いた。これから祭りや花火の季節、日本のハイライト（私の中で）シーズンだ。蒸し暑いし混むしだけど、楽しみだ。

仕事初めて１週間。久々のPC作業（６時間にらめっこ）はかなり疲れるが、先週末に夕飯のおかずをいくつか作り置きしておいたのが功を奏し、全般的には滑り出し快調。行き帰りも上手くするとバス一本で行けるし、電車でも２０分くらいなので負担は思ったほど少ない。

これまで日系企業で働いたことのない私だが、今回は日系ベンチャー。社長は私より２コ下、直属の上司は７コ（！）下、社員もおそらく９割型私より下、バイリンガル私だけ、という目新しい環境。コミュニケーションの加減が分からず（敬語とか謙遜とか、やりすぎると慇懃無礼になるし、かといってやらないと偉そうだし・・・）、とりあえず大人しく適度に礼儀正しく、とローキーを心がけて１週間。とにかく外国かぶれ＆外資ズレの変な日本人にならないよう（おそらく鳴り物入りで入社しているので）と気を使い、超疲れた！！！
ただ、目新しい分おもしろネタは尽きなそう。服装自由だし。どんな環境にいっても最初の１ヶ月は多かれ少なかれ調整期間なのだし、あまり気を張りすぎないようにして、慣れるまで様子みまーす。

We went to bon odori summer dance festival at my friend's dauther's pre school yesterday. Many people showed up dressed in yukata, jinbei, etc.  Such a Japanese summer scene.

Summer is full of fun in Japan in spite of hot humid weather. Many festivals and firework events everywhere.  This is the highlight season of the year in Japan.

My work started last week. As always first one week is nerve wrecking and tiring with new environment and 6 hours straight at PC.  Business owner is 2 years younger and direct boss is 7 years(!), and assumedly 90% of employees younger than me.  I am the only bilingual and because I never worked in 100% Japanese environment, use of respect language (called keigo in Japanese) and appropriate attitude towards staff is bit tricky for me (maybe only in my head).

However, only a 15min bus ride with jeans OK environment, cannot beat anything else.
First one month is always adjusting phase and we'll see how I adjust.
